Peal Sound Mobile
Peal Sound Mobile is fully equipped for pre-production, recording and editing live shows.
I specialise in radio comedy but with my background in music recording, I can offer full 48 track live band recording with 24 analog mic splits or 48 digital splits using Dante.
It’s a Renault Master “LoLoader” conversion. This means you can step in an out the back door easily (no slippery steps). The internal work space is 4.5m long and 2m wide so there’s plenty of room for people in the back. There are two large double glazed windows for lots of natural light and fresh air when you want it, or blacked out for the actual recording.
Traditional mobiles have a lot of space dedicated to cabling, but with digital muticores, heavy space hungry cable drums are a thing of the past. I have 150 metres of fibre optic cable which connects to The IDR48 stage rack providing 48 mic lines and 24 returns. The fibre also carries MIDI which I use for cue lights and quiz unit signalling. This enables sounds sourced from the van to be triggered from stage using keypads, push buttons or music keyboards.
The Sound FX are played in from SpotOn which runs on a Dell PC and has 4 stereo outputs via an Echo Layla sound card.
The Mac laptops are fully loaded with every major sound fx library, a healthy selection of library music, and of course with “Logic” I can make up music on the spot if required.

I have an Allen & Heath iLive T112 with IDR48 mix rack. As a back-up, I also carry a Yamaha DM1000 with an SB168 stage box. All systems run on ethernet or fibre.
